The Mother of Carmel Childcare Centre is operated by the Sisters of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and is staffed by Certified Early Childhood Educators with current C.P.R. and First Aid Training.

We see our centre as a
nurturing environment.

Together with you, the child's parents, we can make a difference iin the growth and development of the children within our care. Our goal is to do this through not only the provision of a strong educationally based program, but also through the introduction of the knowledge of God at a primary level, thus assisting moral and spiritual development combined.

We provide security in a caring and stimulating atmosphere where the child may develop a feeling of self worth while learning to work and play with others in an acceptable manner.

It is our goal to promote a healthy development that will provide the whole child with a strong emotional, physical, intellectual and social foundation during a period when growth is rapid and significant.

Finally, it is our priority to assist in the development of proper, basic living habits associated with self help skills, rest, play, exercise, eating and toileting practices.

We acknowledge the each child has his/her own way of expressing him/herself, therefore the qualities of openness and freedom of expression are highly valued. We promote teacher/child interaction, while maximizing the benefits of social contact between the children themselves. Our role as a social agent is primarily demonstrated in our concern towards encouraging a sense of autonomy and connecting feelings of self worth and personal strength.
